The 39th running of the Thomas Wolfe 8k winds through beautiful downtown Asheville, North Carolina, passing into the Historic Montford District, the Reed Creek Greenway, and Riverside Cemetery, before finishing in front of the Thomas Wolfe Memorial House at 52 N. Market St.
On a sunny Autumn morning, the leaves beginning to change, hundreds of runners will try for their personal best as they race 8km to benefit the Thomas Wolfe Memorial as well as the Asheville Track Club's Healthy Community Fund. In addition to two new $50 awards, sponsored by Jus' Running, for the 1st place male and female at the end, this race is unique in that it includes two cash sprints: the 1 Mile Sprint and the 3 Mile sprint, also sponsored by Jus' Running. The fastest male and female runners at each marker will receive a cash bonus of $50.00!!!
The course starts and finishes at Thomas Wolfe's Old Kentucky Home. Join us on October 18th at 10am for a festive fall run through historic Asheville. You'll be rewarded with one free, thirst-quenching beer (provided by Oskar Blues of Brevard and Sierra Nevada Brewing of Mills River) , pizza, live music, a keepsake, organic cotton, shirt for the first 500 runners, as well as incredible awards.
The 2015 TW8k is also one of the races in the Asheville Track Club's Grand Prix, with over $4,000 in cash prizes to be awarded at the annual club Christmas party!
It takes a lot of supplies to entertain a large group of runners for the morning. Race sponsorship is a great way to reach a targeted group of local, healthy minded individuals who probably want to hear about the great products and services that you have to offer.
If you are interested in sponsoring the 2015 Thomas Wolfe 8K download the sponsorship information sheet and contact us immediately to reserve sponsorship space!!!
A race doesn't happen by itself. It takes loads of dedicated people, working hard behind the scenes, to get hundreds of runners from the starting line to the finish line. Without the support of race volunteers and local public safety professionals, such as emergency medical technicians and police officers, this race will not happen.
That being said, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS for the Thomas Wolfe 8k.
Who is a volunteer? Anyone who wants to share in a unique race experience. You might not be a runner but love to watch races. You might be a runner who wants to support our local races so that they can keep on coming back every year. You might be the parent or spouse of someone who is running. Plus volunteering can be loads of fun!!!
Please help us out! WE NEED YOU!!!
