Course Summary

It is a beautiful 8k course that begins near the Thomas Wolfe visitor center. It rolls through downtown Asheville and the historic Montford community, winding past the gravesite of Thomas Wolfe in Riverside Cemetery, to finish in front of the Thomas Wolfe House.

There are two sprint locations on the course. The 1 Mile Sprint is located at the first mile marker. The second is located in front of the Thomas Wolfe gravesite at the third mile marker.

  • Start on Broadway in front of the Mellow Mushroom
  • Right on Woodfin St.
  • Right on College St.
  • Right on Haywood St.
  • Left on Page Ave.
  • Right on Battery Park
  • Right on O. Henry Ave.
  • Left on Haywood
  • Right on Montford Ave.
  • Left on Watauga
  • Left on Pearson
  • Right on Birch into Riverside Cemetery around top loop past Thomas Wolfe grave and then back out onto Birch
  • Right on Pearson
  • Left on Chestnut
  • Right on Montford Ave
  • Right on Haywood St
  • Left on Patton Ave through Pack Square
  • Left on N. Spruce St.
  • Finish on brick sidewalk at Thomas Wolfe Memorial.
