Location of Start/Finish

Packet pick-up and registration on race morning will be located at the Thomas Wolfe Visitor Center, 52 N. Market Street, west of the Renaissance Hotel. This is where the finish line will be located as well. The start of the race will be one block west on Broadway, in front of the Mellow Mushroom.

Directions

Asheville, located in Western North Carolina, is reached via I-26 from the South (Greenville/Spartanburg) and I-40 from the East (Statesville) and West (Knoxville). Those traveling from the North will take 19/23 (aka I-26 North) out of Johnson City.

Take the I-240 loop to get to downtown Asheville. (There are large signs for 240 for travellers on 40, 19/23, and 26.) Exit at Merrimon Ave. The Thomas Wolfe Memorial is south of 240 next to the Renaissance Hotel.

If you miss 240, take Exit 50 off I-40, and travel north on Route 25 (Biltmore Avenue).

Parking in Asheville

Parking is available on city streets and in the parking garage on Rankin Ave. behind the Asheville Civic Center. On Saturday morning, one can always park on the other side of 240 and walk up past the YMCA. Here are some more tips for parking in Downtown Asheville.
